Indie Author Day

October 14, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Indie Author logoWelcome to Indie Author Day: an all-day celebration of local and self-published authors!

Indie Author Day is an opportunity for the indie community to come together at their local library to help local self-published and independent authors get discovered and for readers to find new books written by fellow community members. Independent authors and aspiring writers can also participate in presentations and workshops about writing, editing, and publishing. Learn more about Indie Author Day, now in its second year, on its website.

More than 20 authors, writing for all ages, will appear at this year’s Indie Author Day: meet local authors of children’s books, teen fiction, and adult fiction and nonfiction. The list of authors is available on our Indie Author Day page!

Good News and Challenges. While ebooks have opened up a world of possibilities for writers, they also have their pitfalls — and sometimes even pratfalls. The good news is that now, with the right blend of talent, ability, and market sense, you can put your written vision into words — and not only have artistic control but also earn a king’s share of royalties. This workshop will provide not only an overview of the process but also a step-by-step guide of what to expect (and avoid).
