Sycamore Plaza has had a busy first year planning our exciting classes and events! If you haven’t made it to our Yoga at the Library yet, make sure to stop by on the first Thursday of every month. If you are looking for storytimes, we have you covered with our Sycamore Plaza Storytime, Storytime-Saturday Style, our new Sensory Storytime.
Starting in September, come hear the BFG by Roald Dahl at our weekly Family Read Aloud. You can also make sure your book bag is “back to school” ready at our Buttons for your Backpack event, and meet some cute critters at our Wildlife Encounter. If you’re looking to get into the Halloween spirit this fall, Sycamore Plaza is the place to be with both The Strange and Spooky World of James Willis and Spooky Magic.
Sycamore Plaza is also gearing up to celebrate its first anniversary. Make sure to stop by on September 1, 2018, from 1-4p.m. for Sycamore Plaza’s First Birthday Party. Come grab a piece of birthday cake and visit with the animals from Sunshine Farms Petting Zoo. Inside the library, we will be rocking out with Anna and the Consequences and hamming it up for the photo booth. The festivities don’t stop there! We will also have drones, games, crafts, giveaways, and a visit from Violet the cow (now that’s a party!).
We have plenty more events that you can check out in both the Beyond Books events guide at the library or by going to the Events Calendar online. Hope to see you at one soon!
While waiting for the fun to start, check out one of these books recommended by the staff at Sycamore Plaza. Request them all on our catalog!
