Pickerington Main Library to unveil Children’s Music Garden

Pickerington Public Library, 201 Opportunity Way, will unveil its new outdoor Children’s Music Garden at a ribbon cutting ceremony from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. The community is invited to attend.

Installed in the garden are four oversized percussion instruments; a large babel drum, rainbow sambas, cavatina and tubular bells.

The music garden instruments were funded by Friends of the Pickerington Public Library.

“The creation of the Children’s Music Garden helps the library in accomplishing our vision by meeting the lifelong learning and enjoyment needs of our citizens and provides a fun and educational space outside of the building that is accessible to all.” said Tony Howard, Library Director, “We recognize the benefits that music has on early literacy development by connecting singing, reading, talking in all of our early literacy classes. We hope to see visitors use the garden all year-round.”
