Pickerington Public Library to close facilities to all foot traffic beginning Monday, March 16, 2020.

To Pickerington and Violet Township community members:

In response to Governor DeWine’s order to close schools and limit gatherings to less than 100 people, the Executive Leadership Team at Pickerington Public Library and Board of Trustees feel it is necessary to close our facilities to all foot traffic beginning Monday, March 16, 2020. These temporary service changes will remain in effect until the Governor’s orders end.

The Pickerington Public Library is dedicated to providing access to information. While we are closing all facilities to foot traffic, we are continuing to staff the library in order to answer telephone and online reference questions. Additionally, customers will be able to return materials and pickup reserves and materials at the front doors of the library or 24-hour pickup lockers.

The library strives to balance public service with public safety. We are actively monitoring communications from Ohio Department of Health (OOH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

We will continue to communicate any further library updates in regards to the virus on the library’s website and social media channels. In the meantime, the library’s free e-branch has many digital services available, such as e-books and audiobooksstreaming television and movies, and digital access to magazines and news publications.
