Have a Question? #PPLibrary has an Answer

By Erikka, Reference Librarian

You have questions and, even though we’re not physically at the library, we still have answers! We are checking our email at pplrefstaff@pickeringtonlibrary.org daily and we’d love to hear from you.

If you’re unsure of what kinds of questions we can answer. Here are some examples:

  • What book should I read next?
Did you know we have thousands of e-books available for free in a variety of formats? Through Overdrive/Libby, Hoopla, Flipster, and RB Digital, we can set you up with the perfect story to keep you occupied while staying at home.
  • How do I read an e-book? Is there an app for that?
Yes, there is, and any of our reference staff or our tech trainers would be happy to assist you in installing and setting up the apps so you can take advantage of the books, magazines, audiobooks, comics, and more that we carry in our e-branch.
  • Not really feeling like reading today. Got any movies?
We sure do! Hoopla has movies and TV shows available to stream. You can have seven checkouts a month, so binge away!
  • During our 75th game of Trivial Pursuit, my family doubted me on an answer. Can you prove to them that I was right?
We love these kinds of questions! Deep dives into subjects or finding a random fact, leave it to us to find you the correct answer from a quality source.
  • I have no time for games right now! Haven’t you heard there’s a pandemic?! I need facts, stat!
We will gladly help you find up-to-date and bias-free information about any subject. Accuracy is our middle name!
  • I’m kind of bored and I’m not sure what to do. Are you offering activities?
Did you know we’re continuing to offer virtual classes and events for every age? Feel free to ask about our program selections and we’ll point you in the right direction for the date and time.
  • What if I just miss seeing my awesome librarian friends?
Maybe you don’t need anything from us specifically. We’d still love to hear from you! Our customers mean the world to us and we miss you as much as you miss us. Say hi and let us know how you’re doing!

We hope you’re able to stay safe and healthy! Feel free to reach out to us at pplrefstaff@pickeringtonlibrary.org, anytime!  We can’t wait to see you again soon!
