Yoga, Livestock, and the Family Farm: Hear the Harrison Farm Story!

July 12, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

This is a free program for adults, held at Pickerington Main.

Maybe you’ve heard about the latest trend in yoga: goat yoga! Or maybe you’ve always wondered what it really takes to work on a farm. Now is your chance to ask someone who is making both work: Katherine Harrison, of Harrison Farm in Groveport!

Katherine Harrison grew up on her grandparents’ farm outside of Canal Winchester.  She spent her childhood learning from her grandfather to care for livestock, and learning from her grandmother to cook & bake.  They nurtured her childhood loves of animals & literature, and instilled in her many life lessons.  After a career that has included teaching, meat processing, and event planning, Katherine is now the fifth generation of her family to raise livestock at Harrison Farm.  Join her as she shares the story of her struggles to carry on her family farm, her continual misadventures with the unruly creatures, and the amazing community that has grown around the farm.  Katherine will be joined by a few of the superstar goats of Harrison Farm, who look forward to bringing their shenanigans to the library!

No registration is required. For additional information about this program, contact the Pickerington Main Adult Services Department, at 614-837-4104, ext. 233.
