Hoopla Access Discontinuing Due to Unsustainable Cost
Dear Pickerington Community,
We are committed to providing valuable resources that enhance your experience and support our mission to serve the needs of our community. After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue access to Hoopla in Pickerington Public Library.
While we recognize the value of Hoopla’s vast collection of e-books, movies, audiobooks, and more, the costs of the service have made it unsustainable for our library’s budget. As responsible stewards of taxpayer funds, we are focused on ensuring that every dollar spent provides the greatest impact for the largest number of customers. After reviewing usage and cost, we believe it’s important to prioritize services that offer the most value and benefit to our entire community.
We understand that this change may be disappointing, and we are working hard to identify other ways to continue offering digital content. We encourage you to explore other resources available through our library, including OverDrive, Libby, or Tumblebooks, which provide a wide range of digital materials at a lower cost. You can access these and many more resources through our website or our Pickerington Public Library app.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to make thoughtful, data-driven decisions in the best interest of our community. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact us at Communications@pickeringtonlibrary.org.
