Cooking with Herbs

This is a free program for adults and teens in grades 6-12.
Herbs can add flavor to foods, which helps if you are trying to cut back on salt, fat and sugar. Herbs have health benefits of their own. Researchers are finding that many herbs have antioxidants that may help protect against such diseases as cancer and heart disease. Take some “thyme” to cook with fresh herbs: learn tips to
help you enjoy the flavor and health benefits of herbs in your cooking!
Items prepared during this event will be:
- Basil pesto
- Basil tomato gluten free penne pasta
This program will be presented by OSU Extension Educator Shannon Carter.
