How to Write a Great College Essay

October 4, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

This is a free program for teens in grades 9-12.

Many great kids write average (even bad) college essays—essays about “life lessons learned from football” or “how my trip to Europe broadened my cultural horizons.” Better tales are there for the writing. This workshop will explain what admissions officers actually want (and don’t want) to read, reveal the five most overused essay topics on which far too many kids rely, and teach writing techniques that will help any student write more engaging and effective college essays.

Meredith Graham, Director of Collegewise-Columbus, presents this free workshop for students in grades 9-12! Learn more about Collegewise by visiting their website.

Held in the library’s Digital Classroom. Snacks will be provided.

Seating is limited: register online below, or by calling the Adult Services Desk, at 614-837-4104, ext. 233.
