Gluten-free Facts for Families: Part 1
January 25, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
This is part one of a free three-part series for adults, and their families.
Between 2009 and 2014, the percentage of Americans avoiding gluten has tripled. Whether that is due to diet trends and marketing, or treatment for Celiac disease, get the facts about gluten-free foods in this series, presented by Shannon Carter, Extension Educator, OSU Extension Fairfield County: discuss appropriate food choices, why gluten-free is not inherently healthy, and tips on adapting to this lifestyle.
In session 1, Introduction to Gluten-free Eating, find out:
· What’s all the fuss about gluten
· What are gluten free foods
· Important considerations before going gluten free
Learn about session 2: Gluten-free Shopping and Eating Out, and session 3: Gluten-free Cooking and Baking.
We strongly encourage participants to attend all three sessions!
Held in the library’s Meeting Room.
Registration is required. Sign up online, below, or by calling the Adult Services Department, at 614-837-4104, ext. 233.
