Research and Writing Prep Class

October 12, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

This is a free program for teens in grades 7-12.

One of the hardest things a student will ever have to do is write a research paper. This class helps to alleviate some of the stresses of paper-writing by going step-by-step through the process with helpful tips and resources. We will discuss how to choose a topic (especially for persuasive essays), how to find resources of a variety of types (including a special section highlighting our various databases), how to cite those resources and find online help to make sure citations are perfect, and how to edit for conciseness, language, and flow. Students will then be encouraged to utilize the Homework Help Center for assistance with any step of this process.

Held in the library’s Digital Classroom.

Registration is required. Sign up starting September 1, or by calling the Adult Services Department at 614-837-4104, ext. 233.
