Silmarillion: “a book group of special magnificence”

This is a free program for fans of Tolkien.  Reserve your spot below. The first session is Thursday, September 7th at 7 p.m. and will continue the first Thursday of each month, with the final meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 5, 2018.

Are you a fan of the Lord of the Rings?  Do you feel you have more in common with hobbits than most people?  If so, you are most certainly in luck.  Experience the grand mythos of Tolkien’s Middle Earth, from the music of the Ainur to the rings of power and the Third Age, in a comfortable setting with fellow fans.  Held on the first Thursday of each month, each session will focus, in depth, on specific chapters of the Silmarillion, Tolkien’s extensive narrative describing all the lands and rich woven tales of Eä.  Discussions will include film and audio clips, side journeys into the broader Tolkien fandom, and, of course, refreshments.  Gather up your maps, ready your songs…and prepare for an adventure.

Sign up online below, in person, or by calling the Adult Services Department, at 614-837-4104, ext. 233.
