All of us at the library love books – of course – and we love dogs, but to have the opportunity to read books to dogs… well, that’s just spectacular!
Do you have a reluctant reader at home? You won’t, after they get the chance to read to therapy dogs: dogs don’t judge. Dogs just listen.
The Pickerington Public Library has partnered with The Connection Pet Therapy Program to provide children in the community with a unique opportunity, reading to a therapy dog. Children, ages 5-10, are able to sign-up for a 20 minute one-on-one reading session. This provides a relaxing way for children to work on their reading skills and helps boost their confidence. Dog Tales is held the 2nd Thursday of the month during the school year: sign up online through our events calendar.
