By Lauren, Homework Help Center Coordinator
We appreciate all of our library volunteers, but certain people go above and beyond. Special thanks to the following volunteers nominated by library staff.
Creative and Crafty: Sybrina King
“Sybrina has been volunteering at the library for many years. She helps out in many different areas, including HHC and Summer Reading. Every year Sybrina helps out with our most demanding, fast-paced, and messiest programs, Art in the Afternoon. We really appreciate all of her hard work and dedication.”
Jack of All Trades: Barb Campbell
“I want to give a special shout out to Barb, who is our Info Services volunteer. It’s wonderful to see her smile every Wednesday morning, and she’s always willing help with just anything. We appreciate you so much!”
Most Dependable: Marilyn Root
“Marilyn is such an asset to our library! She is kind, friendly, and a very attentive worker. Each week, Marilyn can be seen diligently searching for books for our reserves list. Did you put a book on hold? Chances are, Marilyn found that book for you! Marilyn is very thorough in her searches and she works well with staff to get the job done right.”
Event Enthusiast: Elizabeth Putz
“Elizabeth loves helping out in the Youth Services Department. She helps prep books for the Friends Book Sale and helps out in Summer Reading and Early Literacy Classes. Elizabeth comes in to work every time with a smile on her face and joy that is contagious.”
Most Service Hours in 2019: Parker Bennet
“Parker is a math guru extraordinaire an excellent role model for other students. If the Sycamore Plaza Homework Help Center is open, he’s probably there!”
Longest Serving Volunteer: Terrie Albright
“Terrie has been giving back to the library for years, helping weekly with the magazines and serving on the Friends of the Library Board. We love her!”
The Dream Team: Isabella Tynski, Julie Blair, Emma Morton, John Arduini, and Nebras Alhayek
Helping students in the Homework Help Center is truly a team effort. We especially want to recognize Isabella and Julie at Sycamore Plaza Library and John, Emma, and Nebras at Main Library for taking on every homework challenge that comes their way.
