Explore “Natural Wonders – Bats” at Pickerington Main Library

New to Pickerington Main Library! Presenting “Natural Wonders” a traveling, interactive, museum-quality exhibit. Traveling Museum Exhibits will be on view at the library throughout 2022 and will feature six different “Natural Wonders” themes focusing on biodiversity and science learning.

These exhibits provide free access to unique, museum-quality, science-based learning for everyone in the community and also support Ohio’s Learning Standards from the Ohio Department of Education for students pre-kindergarten through grade 12 by promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning.

These exhibits combine wonder, engagement, and learning with an all-in-one, interactive mobile kiosk and feature artifacts and specimens, engaging and educational visuals, books, and a craft table set up with take-home family activities.

“We’re always looking for exciting ways to meet the community’s need for exceptional life-long learning opportunities,” said Tony Howard, Library Director “These exhibits allow us to provide dynamic STEM outreach to patrons of all ages. This project is a great example of providing greater access to educational resources and strengthening our community partnerships.”

The Traveling Museum Exhibit project was made possible through a partnership between The Ohio State University’s Museum of Biological Diversity (OSUMBD) and the Grandview Heights Public Library (GHPL) and shared with library members as part of Central Library Consortium (CLC), 17 Central Ohio library systems sharing resources to offer 67 million items to their cardholders.
