Play is an important component in every child’s development. Pickerington Public Library offers items that will stimulate the mind and engage customers both young and old.
In-house Play Experiences
AWE Early Literacy Computers
Great for toddlers through elementary school, these computers are pre-loaded with over 65 diverse educational software titles that support all curriculum areas and cover all components of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) education.
Different Abilities Monument
The three five-foot-tall columns represent cognitive, physical and non-disabled, with hand painted tiles by both persons with disabilities and unimpaired persons.
Early Literacy Activities
Help your child get ready to read by engaging in a variety of activities that support the five early literacy practices: reading, writing, talking, singing, and playing. Activities are held at both Pickerington Main Library and Sycamore Plaza Library.
Lego Table
Who doesn’t love to build with these classic bricks? Strengthen hand-eye coordination, solve problems, and work together to build a masterpiece.
Light Table
The light table is available at Pickerington Main and features a rotation of magnetic building tiles, x-rays, and dominoes for kids to explore.
LUMOplay
LUMOplay systems is coming soon! LUMOPlay creates interactive floor, wall, and touchscreen
experiences to work both large- and small-motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Music Garden
Visit the Music Garden at Pickerington Main, where children of any age
can express emotions, develop a sense of rhythm, support their physical
development, develop communication skills, and benefit from auditory and tactile
stimulation.
Nature Table
Kids are naturally curious, and the Nature Table is a great way to find
out about science concepts. Stop by Pickerington Main Library to see what’s new.
