Summer Fun with Board Games

Did you know that our library circulates board games? If you are looking for something to do this summer, come in and pick out a game the whole family will enjoy.

Carcassonne cover art

Carcassonne:

You are a medieval land developer, fighting for influence against other developers. Use tiles to build villages, roads, and monasteries, gaining followers along the way.  This game requires strategy and planning, but is very quick to learn!

Castles of Mad King Ludwig cover art

Castles of Mad King Ludwig:

Ludwig is a man of varied tastes and preferences. Your job is to build him a castle to his liking—which is difficult when his desires change on a whim. Expand your floor plan, achieve your goals, and make as much money as you can…but remember to keep the king happy!  If you like a fun, competitive game with a puzzle element, this is a great selection.

Phantom Society cover art

Phantom Society:

The Phantom Society has been hired to rid a house of destructive ghosts, but they aren’t exactly clean about their methods. One of you plays the ghosts while the rest play the Society members. Your goal? Be the first to cause a set amount of destruction (if you’re a ghost) or limit the destruction (if you’re a Society member). But remember—ghost hunting is messy business. This game is really fast, both to learn and to play, so it is great when you just want to play something quick.

Fluxx cover art

Fluxx:

This card game is fast, frenetic, and mind-bending. Try to keep up and achieve your objectives as the rules change with every draw of a card. You’ll feel totally confused—that’s part of the fun! We have many variations, like Star Wars and Cthulu themed Fluxx, so get the party started today!

Check out these or one of our other games for some summer fun with the family.  These are only available to Pickerington Public Library cardholders, so sign up for a card today and start playing.
