Meet Violet

Why does Pickerington Public Library have a cow as a mascot? Farming is part of the strong history in Pickerington, Ohio. There were several prominent dairy farms and producers in our area including Wetherell Dairy and  Mayflower Creamery.  Pickerington Public Library was built on one of those farms, the Blauser Farm.  Violet the Cow is the perfect mascot to represent our library. Why is she named Violet the Cow? Because she lives within Violet Township of course! Violet the Cow is our reading ambassador and represents our mission of Inspiring Learning, Connecting Community, Enriching Our World and Foster a Love of Reading in our libraries and out in the community.

She takes part in many of our library classes and events including Early Literacy classes, Summer Reading and Winter Reading initiatives and Comic Fest. Violet the Cow even has her own coloring books and pages! She loves to dance, read and visit local community events!

If you’d like Violet the Cow to make an appearance at your event, please contact Colleen Bauman, Executive Manager-Community Engagement at 614.837.4104 ext. 221 or communications@pickeringtonlibrary.org.
