As students prepare to return to school, it’s a great time for them to review last year’s subjects and think about what they’ll be learning in the next year. One fantastic resource available to Pickerington Public Library cardholders is Learning Express Library. Learning Express Library provides study materials for every grade, K-12, as well as college and career preparation materials. With a library card, all of these materials can be accessed in the library or from home.
For students nearing the end of school, there are AP practice exams, TOEFL exam guides, as well as SAT and ACT preparation resources (including practice tests). Speaking of ACT/SAT prep, we offer test prep classes six times each year, just in time for each administration of the ACT and SAT. The first date for the 2017-18 school year is Thursday, August 17 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Registration is required, and will open one month before each class: visit our event calendar starting July 17 to sign up! If you aren’t taking the test that early, there are five more classes, so keep an eye on the website or ask a staff member for more details on future dates.
Learning Express Library features plenty of great tools for adults as well. If you need career preparation, citizenship help, computer skills training, or just a bit of brushing up on rusty skills, Learning Express has you covered. The programs are easy to understand, supportive of learners at every level, and well-organized to help you succeed. Learning Express Library is a useful tool for studying and reviewing subjects, especially for test prep, but sometimes a student requires more one-on-one assistance to fully understand a concept. Our Homework Help Center (HHC) is the solution! It is open 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and re-opens for the 2017-18 school year on Tuesday, August 15. Our coordinator and volunteers are always willing to help students of all ages succeed in any subject, no appointment necessary! Bring a homework assignment and a willingness to work and the HHC will make sure you walk out feeling confident and prepared.
