Pickerington Public Library to Provide Free COVID-19 Home Tests for Public

March 4, 2021 — In an effort to continue community support during the pandemic, Pickerington Public Library is providing free COVID-19 at-home test kits at both locations. Because of high demand, we are running out quickly; please call Pickerington Main (614-837-4104) or Sycamore Plaza (614-837-4383) before heading to the library.

Anyone can access a free test during operational hours at Pickerington Main’s drive-up window or through curbside at Sycamore Plaza Library. Customers may request more than one test (with a limit of five tests per family) and won’t be asked for any personal information. However, customers will be asked not to take the test at the library. Other than providing tests for pickup, library staff will not able to help with administering the test in any way.

Using nasal swabs, Abbot’s BinaxNOW COIVD-19 Home Test provides results in minutes, detecting the virus when people are most infectious. The test comes in conjunction with an online service that helps guide people through the process and interpret results.

This service is available at Pickerington Public Library thanks to support from the Ohio Department of Health and its partnership with Abbott and eMed to bring rapid, reliable testing into the home. To see a full list of locations providing COVID-19 tests, visit https://ohio.emed.com/.

Update: Depending on the lot number of your BinaxNOW at-home Rapid COVID-19 test, the expiration date has been extended to twelve months from its manufacture date. Visit @OhioDepartmentofHealth for more information and a list of qualifying tests: https://loom.ly/YpRpvdY
