May the 4th be with You: Star Wars Recommended Reads for All Ages

Star Wars Day, May the 4th, is upon us! Celebrate by checking out some of these Star Wars reads available through our e-branch.

Adult Reads

1. “The Princess Diarist” by Carrie Fisher

   Hear the story from the princess herself! Carrie Fisher, the actress who played Princess Leia in the original trilogy, writes about her experience filming and promoting the original Star Wars trilogy. Check it out for all the behind the scenes insights.
2. “Star Wars: Master and Apprentice” by Claudia Gray
   e-book | audiobook
   Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of my absolute favorite characters in the Star Wars series! In this novel we get insight into his early years, training as a Jedi under Master Qui-Gon Jinn. I strongly recommend checking out the audiobook. The Star Wars audiobooks have excellent production value with sound effects from the films!

Teen Reads

1. “Leia, Princess of Alderaan” by Claudia Gray

   This novel tells the story of the early years of our favorite Star Wars princess! As per tradition in Alderaan, a teenage Leia has to complete three challenges to earn her title of Princess of Alderaan. Along the way she meets some unique friends, goes on exciting adventures, and uncovers a mystery about a possible rebellion.
2. “Rebel Rising” by Beth Revis

   This is the prequel book to the film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. Meet Jyn Erso, an orphaned girl taken in by Saw Gerrera. Gerrera is obsessed with rebelling against the Empire and trains Jyn to be a rebel herself. Yet, when betrayed, Jyn is forced to figure out her own path.
