With your Pickerington Public Library card, you have access to millions of items through the library’s collection, our membership in the Central Library Consortium, and through SearchOhio and OhioLINK.
Pickerington Public Library cards are free to obtain.
Any resident of the state of Ohio is eligible for a Pickerington Public Library card. Cardholders do not have to be a resident of the City of Pickerington, Violet Township, or Fairfield County. There are no age restrictions on library cards.
To create a new library card for yourself or for a minor (ages 17 and under), you will be required to provide photo ID with a photograph and printed name and verification of current address.
Examples of acceptable ID include a driver’s license, state issued ID, passport, military ID, and school ID, among others. If photo ID does not include the customer’s current address, they must present one piece of official documentation for verification of their current address. See examples of acceptable ID and documentation in the library’s Cardholder Policy.
If you do not have anything with your current address on it, library staff will mail your new card to you at an address you provide. Check out will not be available until you receive your card.

Kid’s Cards:
Minors with Kids Cards may only borrow three (3) print items at a time and may only place three (3) holds on print items. These cardholders are permitted the full number of renewals. Loan periods follow material types. Kids Cards will not be subject to 3rd party collection action. Kids Cards expire on the customer’s eighteenth (18th) birthday.
Educator/Teacher Cards:
To apply for a Teacher Card, in addition to other required forms of acceptable ID, applicants must show a recent pay stub from the school, preschool, or daycare where employed. Other acceptable verifications include a homeschool letter dated within the year, school photo ID from the current school year, or a signed letter from an administrator on school letterhead stating the individual is a teacher.
In addition to all the privileges of Full Access cards, Teacher Cards allow a six (6) week loan period for items, but with no renewals. Two (2) lost items per school year will be allotted to the account if necessary. Any item from the collection except Quick Picks and video games are 5 permitted to be checked out using an Educator/Teacher Card. Teacher Cards are good for three (3) years.
Lost Cards:
Lost or stolen cards should be reported to the library immediately, so library staff can put a block on your account. This keeps you from being held responsible for items checked out on that lost/stolen card after you’ve reported it to the library.
Identification is required to receive a replacement card.
